VVS Brings New Wave of Hip-Hop to Egypt’s North Coast with ‘Sahel Shutdown’

Recording one of its hottest seasons to date, Egypt’s North Coast saw a summer full of thunderous sounds, rowdy crowds and, of course, countless techno bangers. Now, to close off the season with a little flavor (sorry melodic techno), one of Egypt’s local entertainment agencies, VVS is partnering with Quality Venture to bring a hefty dose of hip-hop to the shores of Sahel on August 11 at Cassette in New Alamein.

Strictly hip-hop, ‘VVS Shutdown’ promises a new kind of immersive experience that is fine-tailored for the new generation of experimental music in the region. Headliner Gamiano will be joined by Fakha, Wezza, Meniawy, Hype and Anas Hefny for a night of live performances that span the full spectrum of hip-hop subgenres from Trap and Drill to Hyperpop and Brazilian Funk. DJs Dabbagh and Zeft Funk will also be joining the show, spinning out hip-hop bangers all night long.
